Educational Background : I received my Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from CACREP accredited Felician University, and my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Felician University. I also earned a Masters of Science from Montclair State University in Environmental Management. As a Licensed Associate Counselor, I have extensive experience working with a wide range of diverse clientele from a variety of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. I have worked in clinical outpatient settings, MICA (Mentally Ill Chemically Addicted) Outpatient Programs, APH (Acute Patient Hospitalization), Adult Residential Extended Long Term Care, providing Individual therapy, Group therapy, and Educational treatment. Therapeutic Approach : I believe it’s important to take the time to talk with the client so I can better understand where they are currently at and what they are experiencing. I want to create a custom mental health plan to provide the best possible care and help the client develop understanding and skills to better cope with their condition. I believe exceptional mental health care is obtained when there is an ongoing relationship between myself and the client. My goal is to be the clients partner in improving their mental health. The therapeutic approaches that I utilize include: Person-Centered Therapy, Trauma-Informed, Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Psycho-Educational, Culturally Sensitive, Solution-Focused, Feminist, Interpersonal, Narrative Therapy, Intervention, Mindfulness-based (MBCT), Motivational Interviewing, Multicultural, and Positive Psychology.
