Iesha Whitaker, LCSW, She/Her Biography I am an LCSW, and I have been practicing in New York city since 2012. I graduated from Hunter College School of social work in 2011. My areas of focus are Anxiety Disorders, Depression, PTSD, ADHD, Anger Management, daily life stressors, emotional dysregulation and clients dealing with life transitions. I work with clients that have experienced issues with substance abuse, chronic homelessness and Domestic Violence. I have experience with several treatment modalities such as: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Supportive Therapy, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused Therapy, Strength-based Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy I provide individual therapy to adults from the ages of 18 and up. I have knowledge of working in OMH and DHS mental health-based clinics, hospital settings, which includes emergency room care and discharge planning. I am passionate about helping clients of minority backgrounds that suffer with mental illness and face disadvantages and generational poverty and trauma. I have a passion for working with young adults, navigating college years, transitioning into adulthood. I am a Gender Affirming Therapist and will help clients navigate their emotions and experiences that are faced when they are coming to terms with their gender identity. I can provide clients with resources and referrals as needed.
