About Elizabeth Foerst (She/Her)
Elizabeth Foerst helps adults throughout New York navigate life’s challenges with compassion, insight, and evidence-based mental health care through her work at LifeStance Health. She creates a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore difficult emotions, develop healthy coping strategies, and build lasting resilience. Elizabeth works with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, and trauma-related concerns, while also supporting individuals facing grief, substance use challenges, and significant life transitions. Elizabeth is particularly passionate about helping clients move through periods of change and uncertainty while reconnecting with their strengths and values. Whether someone is adjusting to a midlife transition, processing loss, or working through the effects of past experiences, she believes therapy can be a place for healing, self-discovery, and growth. She helps clients better understand patterns that may be keeping them stuck and supports them in creating meaningful changes that align with the lives they want to live. Her therapeutic approach is collaborative and tailored to each individual’s unique needs. Drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness-based interventions, Elizabeth helps clients develop practical skills for managing emotional distress, improving self-awareness, and navigating everyday challenges. She provides individual therapy for adults and welcomes members of the LGBTQ+ community, as well as individuals from diverse backgrounds and life experiences. In addition to her primary areas of expertise, she offers support for a variety of mental health concerns and personal growth goals. Since beginning her clinical practice in 2018, Elizabeth has remained committed to helping clients achieve meaningful and sustainable progress. She earned her education from the College of Saint Rose, the University at Albany, and Hudson Valley Community College. Her style is warm, authentic, and grounded in the belief that every person deserves to feel understood, supported, and empowered in their mental health journey. Outside of her work, Elizabeth enjoys traveling, exploring new places, and spending time with her family, two dogs, and kitten. She loves music and plays the guitar, enjoys discovering new genres, and is an avid reader. She is also a coffee enthusiast, history lover, and self-proclaimed Halloween fanatic. Her interest in mindfulness, personal growth, humor, and meaningful connection reflects the values she brings into both her personal life and therapeutic work.
