About Shanyce Matthews (She/Her)
Shanyce Matthews helps children, adolescents, teens, adults, and older adults navigate life’s challenges with compassion, clinical skill, and a practical approach to change. At LifeStance Health, she provides therapy for patients across Ohio who are seeking support for concerns such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD/trauma. Through individual, couples, and family therapy, Shanyce creates a supportive environment where patients can explore difficulties, build resilience, and develop meaningful strategies for long-term emotional wellness.
A particular passion of Shanyce’s work is helping individuals who have recently been discharged from a psychiatric hospital and those participating in court-ordered treatment. She understands that these situations can feel overwhelming and complex, and she is committed to helping patients navigate recovery, maintain stability, and work toward their personal goals. Her approach emphasizes accountability, hope, and practical tools that support lasting progress.
Shanyce works with a wide range of populations, including individuals involved in adoption or foster care, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and people with autism spectrum disorders. She draws from evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), while also offering additional therapeutic approaches tailored to each patient’s unique needs and experiences.
Whether supporting a child with behavioral concerns, a teen facing emotional challenges, a couple working through relationship difficulties, or an adult navigating a major life transition, Shanyce focuses on building strong therapeutic relationships rooted in trust and collaboration. She believes that meaningful healing occurs when patients feel heard, understood, and empowered to make positive changes in their lives.
Outside of her clinical work, Shanyce enjoys practicing yoga, reading, spending time outdoors in nature, coloring, and embracing her roles as both a mother and a therapist. These experiences help shape her holistic view of well-being and reinforce her belief in the importance of balance, self-care, and connection.
