Christine Dessoffy is a licensed professional clinical counselor with supervisory designation and an independent chemical dependency counselor. She has more than 20 years of clinical experience including senior clinical director positions at community mental health centers. She also served as division manager for the Cuyahoga County Department of Justice Affairs. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Kent State University. She sees adolescents and adults, specializing in treatment of anxiety, depression and substance abuse disorders. She uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to treat trauma, stress and interpersonal related issues. She uses a skills based, solution focused treatment strategy to improve problem solving and communication skills with couples.

Today I had my first telehealth visit with my counselor! It was easy to find a therapist and they accept a broad range of insurances. My two biggest issues with every other company I tried to find a therapist through was insurance. I have Medicaid and no one accepted the type I had. I called the lifestance 800 number and the woman I spoke with set me up quickly with a therapist who accepted my insurance ! No questions asked. The website is easy to use! The video app is clear and easy to use. I’m a stay at home mom who can access therapy from my couch. It’s amazing! Everyone I have come into contact with has been more than accommodating, and friendly. I recommend this 100% . Christine during our visit was so kind, and she was very accommodating, for our first visit she gave very thorough information on how to contact her in between visits. I’m excited to continue with her!

She makes me comfortable enough to open up and just talk about anything and she’s engaged in what I have to say! It’s been rough the last couple of years and talking makes it easier to process things/traumas. I appreciate her for just lending an ear at the very least! Love her and thank you LifeStance!
