Stephanie Wheeler is an independently licensed marriage and family therapist. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Xavier University and her master’s degree in marriage and family counseling from Adler University in Chicago. She has previous experience in both community mental health and school-based settings. She primarily utilizes solution-based counseling, which focuses on increasing awareness of what is already going well, as well as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and person-based counseling, which focuses on the individual. She also has Level 1 training in Gottman therapy, a research-based couple’s therapy. She works with individuals and families, while being mindful of the impact of family and support networks. She enjoys working with clients ages 12 and older. She tries to connect with each client individually and provide the type of therapy that will be most helpful for their situation.
