Elizabeth Gunther, MSW/LISW,
About Elizabeth Gunther (She/Her)
Elizabeth Gunther helps teens, adults, and older adults navigate life’s challenges with compassion, authenticity, and evidence-based care. As a therapist with LifeStance Health, she serves patients throughout Ohio, providing individual therapy for concerns such as anxiety, depression, and trauma. Elizabeth is committed to creating a supportive, judgment-free space where patients feel understood, empowered, and equipped with practical tools to achieve meaningful change.
Elizabeth has a particular passion for working with individuals whose interests, identities, or lifestyles may not always feel fully understood in traditional settings. She enjoys supporting geeks, gamers, Dungeons & Dragons enthusiasts, science fiction and fantasy fans, individuals from non-traditional religious backgrounds, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and those in non-traditional relationships. Her approach emphasizes respect, curiosity, and affirmation, helping patients explore their experiences while building resilience and confidence.
Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based techniques, Elizabeth tailors treatment to each person’s unique needs and goals. She also provides Gender-Affirmative Medical Readiness Evaluations and has experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum. While her expertise includes anxiety, depression, and trauma, she also offers support for a variety of additional mental health concerns and life transitions.
Elizabeth believes that successful therapy begins with a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, collaboration, and mutual respect. Her goal is to help patients develop greater self-awareness, strengthen coping skills, and create lasting positive changes that align with their values and goals.
Outside of her clinical work, Elizabeth enjoys playing and running Dungeons & Dragons campaigns, maintaining a koi pond, and exploring fantasy-themed video games. She values connecting with people from diverse backgrounds and creating a welcoming environment where individuality is celebrated. Elizabeth also offers services in Spanish.
