About Melissa Wallain (She/Her)

Melissa Wallain helps children, adolescents, teens, and adults build resilience, strengthen relationships, and navigate life’s challenges with compassion and evidence-based care. Serving patients across Oklahoma through LifeStance Health, she creates a supportive therapeutic environment where individuals and families can feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes. Melissa provides individual therapy and couples counseling for concerns such as anxiety, depression, and trauma, while also offering support for many additional mental health needs. Melissa is especially passionate about helping individuals who have been recently discharged from a psychiatric hospital and are working toward stability, recovery, and renewed confidence in daily life. She understands the unique challenges that can arise during this transition and partners with clients to develop practical coping skills, strengthen support systems, and create a personalized path forward. Her approach is focused on promoting long-term wellness while helping clients regain a sense of hope and control. With experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families, Melissa tailors treatment to each client’s developmental stage and goals. She enjoys working with children through play therapy techniques and supports parents in building healthy communication patterns, consistent boundaries, and effective parenting strategies. She also has experience serving individuals in adoption and foster care settings, those with Autism Spectrum Disorders, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. Melissa utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based approaches, and couples counseling techniques, while offering additional therapeutic interventions when appropriate. She also incorporates Internal Family Systems-informed strategies and faith-based treatment when aligned with a client’s preferences and goals. Melissa earned her education from Mid-America Christian University and Texas Woman’s University. She is committed to providing thoughtful, individualized care that honors each client’s unique experiences, values, and strengths. Outside of her clinical work, Melissa enjoys spending time with her husband and their two dogs. She loves practicing yoga, hiking, and playing the violin.
