Maria I. Valentin, LCSW, provides compassionate and comprehensive therapy for children, adolescents, parents, and families in Pennsylvania. Practicing at LifeStance Health, she brings over 13 years of postgraduate training in play therapy modalities to help clients navigate life transitions, emotional challenges, and conditions such as childhood behavioral issues, trauma, and family dynamics. Her trauma-informed approach, combined with play therapy and parent coaching, creates a safe, supportive environment where individuals can explore emotions and find healing. Maria is particularly passionate about trauma therapy. She has received significant training in this area and is currently working toward EMDR certification, while also practicing Brain spotting at a basic level. Maria’s dedication to helping clients work through traumatic experiences is a cornerstone of her practice, and she has extensive experience guiding individuals of all ages through emotional and psychological healing.

She also offers specialized support for issues related to PTSD, depression, and anxiety, helping clients manage symptoms and regain control over their lives. In addition to trauma therapy, Maria is deeply invested in supporting families and children with ADHD, developmental disabilities, and autism spectrum disorders. Using play therapy and sand tray therapy, she helps children express themselves in ways that feel natural and comforting. She also works with parents, providing coaching to strengthen their parenting skills and help them navigate the complexities of raising children with behavioral and developmental challenges. Outside of her practice, Maria enjoys spending time in nature through hiking, kayaking, camping, and fishing. She is also an avid cook and pottery enthusiast.
