Melissa Trout, MS, LPC,
About Melissa Trout (She/Her)
Melissa Trout, LPC, is dedicated to helping adolescents, teens, and adults in Pennsylvania find clarity and healing through life’s challenges. She provides a safe, supportive space for clients to explore their emotions, strengthen coping skills, and develop healthier ways of thinking and behaving. Whether someone is navigating anxiety, depression, or navigating the complexities of trauma, Melissa works collaboratively to guide each client toward meaningful and lasting change. She provides individual therapy for clients ages 11 and up, serving the diverse needs of individuals across the state of Pennsylvania. Melissa brings particular expertise in treating trauma and post-traumatic stress, offering evidence-based interventions to support recovery from both acute and complex trauma. She is also passionate about helping individuals who are struggling with eating disorders including avoidant restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID), recognizing the deep emotional roots often tied to disordered eating behaviors. Melissa draws on techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)-informed, and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to help clients understand their thought patterns, regulate their emotions, and reduce avoidance in daily life. In addition to her core specialties, Melissa offers care to LGBTQ+ individuals, and her practice includes a strong emphasis on treating obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Through the use of mindfulness and structured exposure techniques, she empowers clients to confront intrusive thoughts and reclaim a sense of control. Her approach is warm, validating, and focused on building practical tools that support long-term growth. Melissa values the therapeutic relationship as a foundation for healing and is committed to fostering trust, openness, and collaboration. Outside of her clinical work, she enjoys reading, writing, spending time with family and friends, and prioritizing self-care.
