Claudia Barrows, Therapist

Claudia Barrows, MS, LPC, NCC

Claudia Barrows is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas who has been practicing since 2019. She has a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Texas at San Antonio and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from The University of the Incarnate Word. Claudia will help encourage clients to feel their emotions — and she means actually feel them. Too often we ignore our emotions either by distracting or numbing ourselves. While it can be uncomfortable to sit with the discomfort of difficult emotions, there is growth and healing waiting on the other side. Identifying inner experiences can be incredibly powerful! Claudia works using a holistic and person-centered lens as a clinician. She uses this approach because when we consider mental health within the unique contexts of our identities, cultural backgrounds, and worldviews, we can better care for ourselves and others. It also allows her to be more inclusive of her client’s individuality while honoring their unique experiences. Claudia enjoys the privilege of being able to provide tools clients will utilize in their journeys in personal growth and healing. Turning toward parts of ourselves that we have neglected for so long can be incredibly difficult. However, Claudia is here to support clients in doing so. And it is an amazing feeling to be a part of their journeys! Outside of work, Claudia enjoys music, dance, fitness, cooking, spending time with her family, and cuddling with her pups. Having personal passions as a mental health provider is essential for her to decompress and practice self-care.
