Christine Freeburg, LCSW, provides in-office individual therapy for children ages 3–10 and specializes in supporting young children through play therapy and CBT-informed interventions. She works with children who may be experiencing anxiety, emotional outbursts, behavioral concerns, school stress, ADHD-related challenges, bullying, grief and loss, low self-esteem, social skills difficulties, and adjustment to life changes.

Christine understands that young children do not always have the words to explain what they are feeling or experiencing. Through play therapy, she creates a developmentally appropriate space where children can express emotions, process challenges, build coping skills, and strengthen emotional regulation. Her approach is warm, supportive, and child-centered, while also helping children develop practical tools they can use at home, at school, and in relationships.

While Christine does not provide family therapy, she recognizes that caregiver involvement is an important part of effective child therapy. As clinically appropriate, she collaborates with parents and caregivers to share general themes, support treatment goals, and offer guidance that can help reinforce the child’s progress outside of session. This caregiver collaboration is designed to support the child’s individual treatment, not to serve as family counseling.

Christine’s clinical approach is grounded in compassion, patience, and respect for each child’s unique developmental needs. She works to help children feel safe, understood, and supported while helping caregivers better understand their child’s needs and respond with greater confidence.
