Michelle Brachten, LCSW, helps children, teens, and young adults across Virginia build the skills needed to manage emotions, strengthen relationships, and navigate life’s challenges with confidence. At LifeStance Health, she provides compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to each individual and family, supporting clients throughout Virginia with accessible, high-quality mental health services. Michelle specializes in ADHD, anxiety, and depression, and has experience addressing concerns such as school avoidance, trauma, and childhood behavioral challenges. She works with children, adolescents, and teens, as well as young adults, and incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and family therapy to promote lasting growth. Her approach is collaborative and practical, helping clients develop coping strategies they can apply in everyday life. She also has experience supporting individuals and families involved in adoption and foster care, as well as working with women navigating life transitions. While she treats a wide range of concerns, Michelle is especially passionate about creating a supportive space where young clients feel understood and empowered, and where families can rebuild connection and communication. She partners closely with caregivers to reinforce progress outside of sessions and foster a strong foundation for long-term well-being. Outside of her clinical work, Michelle enjoys hiking, running, and snowboarding.
