Eileen Mulcahy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the Commonwealth of Virginia. She has been licensed since 1998 and worked in a variety of settings, primarily with children and families. She completed her Master’s in Social Work from University of Maryland at Baltimore specializing in families and children, and a Bachelor’s in Psychology and Women’s Studies from Goddard College. She has a particular interest in working with women and adults with ADD/ADHD throughout the lifespan.

Eileen’s approach to counseling is strength based, focusing on collaborating with her client to build a supportive and empowering relationship together in counseling sessions. She has many years of experience working with clients dealing with traumas such as domestic violence, loss of loved ones, divorce, retirement, significant health crisis in the client or their loved ones, and adjusting to the impact of the aging process on the client. In the last four years of working remotely she has particularly enjoyed working with adults in addressing a variety of challenges and in helping the client to learn, process and reframe their understanding and acceptance of the continual process of change that life brings to all of us. So that her clients are better able move forward in a manner that helps them to manage their goals.

Eileen seeks to establish a warm, supportive, and respectful working relationship in sessions. Her goal is to create a therapeutic alliance together in order to enable clients to bring about the changes they desire for their lives.
