Rachel Mathis helps adults build resilience, navigate challenges, and create meaningful change through compassionate, evidence-based therapy. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at LifeStance Health, she serves adults throughout Washington, providing individualized care for those experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and other emotional difficulties. Rachel creates a supportive, collaborative environment where clients can feel heard, understood, and empowered to move toward their goals. Rachel is especially passionate about helping individuals work through grief and trauma while developing mindful self-compassion. She understands that painful life experiences can affect every aspect of a person’s well-being and believes healing begins with learning to approach oneself with greater understanding and kindness. Her therapeutic approach supports clients in processing difficult emotions, building self-awareness, and cultivating healthier ways of coping with life’s challenges. Her clinical style is grounded in Person-Centered Therapy and incorporates evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness techniques. Rachel commonly works with adults facing anxiety, depression, and trauma-related concerns, while also supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds, including members of the LGBTQ+ community, military veterans, and adults on the autism spectrum. She offers additional support for a variety of mental health concerns and life transitions. Rachel began practicing in 2022 and draws on her education from Minnesota State University Moorhead and Western Washington University. She is committed to providing care that is both clinically effective and tailored to each client’s unique experiences, strengths, and needs. Outside of her professional work, Rachel enjoys traveling, reading, singing, painting, hiking, walking, practicing yoga, barre, Pilates, and MixxedFit. She also values spending quality time with friends and family and believes that balance, connection, and creativity can play an important role in overall well-being.
