Dave is a licensed Psychotherapist and Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor whom has been providing counseling to adults and families for over 40 years. He earned his graduate degree in Clinical Social Work from Loyola University- Chicago and undergraduate degree in Social Work for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. His experience spans working in inpatient, residential, intensive outpatient and outpatient settings including specialized opioid use disorder-medication assisted treatment. He utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational enhancement therapy, behavioral management, mindfulness techniques and integration of self-help recovery constructs including the 12 steps and 12 traditions.

Clients find Dave’s counseling style warm, relaxed, facilitative and appreciate him working from a strength based, resiliency focused approach. Treatment apprehensive clients find Dave’s approach facilitative to self- exploration and immensely helpful in building report and helping them stay actively engaged in the counseling process.

Dave has extensive expertise providing therapy for substance use disorders including chronic opioid use disorder and co-occurring mood disorders including depression, bi-polar disorder and seasonal affective disorder.
