Successful therapy begins with a genuine dialogue between you as a person and me as your therapist. The gentle art of change means discussing the context of your life– where you are at now– and how you got there (including how you developed and maintain the values you live by). Your values provide the “richness” to living. Most of all, psychotherapy means understanding what you’ve already tried, what has worked — and yes– what gets in the way of you living a better life. I’ve worked for over 15 years helping people with ADHD, bipolar disorder, substance dependence, relationship issues, grief, career transitions, rehabilitation and return to work issues, self-harm, women’s issues, life transitions and those with serious mental and physical illnesses. I access many modalities including individual cognitive-behavioral (CBT), systems- oriented, contextual, and short-term solution-oriented therapies. Physicians often refer for evaluations and/or consultation. My doctorate is in counseling and human development and my master’s degree is in clinical psychology.
