John Barrett is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Wisconsin who has been practicing since 2020. He obtained his Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marquette University, and also holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.

John’s previous experience includes working in a partial hospitalization program with adults diagnosed with a substance use disorder as well as a wide range of co-occurring mental health diagnoses including depression, anxiety, psychological trauma, ADHD, personality disorders, bipolar disorder, or adjusting to significant life stressors. In addition to working with individuals, John also has experience working with families and providing group therapy. To help clients achieve their personal goals John utilizes an integrated approach drawing on techniques from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. John recognizes that each individual is an expert in their own life, and sometimes needs an empathetic and neutral support to help better understand themselves, their relationships, and the complex world we live in.

Outside of work, John’s personal hobbies include listening to music and going to concerts, playing golf, reading, and spending time with family and friends. He loves exploring new restaurants, dog parks and trails, and traveling.
