Lauren is a nationally certified Licensed Professional Counselor who earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Valparaiso University. After completing her education, Lauren gained valuable experience working at Rogers Behavioral Health in their Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient programs before continuing her career working in the private outpatient setting. Lauren provides individual therapy to clients age 5 and up and has experience working with ADHD, depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, suicidal ideation, non suicidal self injurious behaviors, mood disorders and personality disorders. Lauren is passionate about working with the LGBTQ+ community and other marginalized groups and is deeply committed to providing inclusive and affirming care in a safe and nonjudgmental space to celebrate diversity and for all to feel welcome, accepted and supported regardless of age, race, ethnicity, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, physical ability and socioeconomic status. Lauren uses a client-centered approach and believes that the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important and powerful parts of the therapeutic process. Lauren incorporates dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), trauma-focused cognitive behavior therapy (TF-CBT) and uses art and play therapy techniques to help clients improve their quality of life. Lauren is creative in the therapeutic process and enjoys collaborating with her clients to tailor her approach to meet their individual needs.
