Erik’s approach to therapy is both warm and direct, believing that it their place to foster client’s growth through understanding, compassion, and a focus on their strengths. During their studies and training, they have focused on individual identity development, feminist studies, systems theories of identity development, and cultural humility. Erik’s therapy is based heavily on Dialectical Behavioral Therapy’s skills and Humanistic/Emotion Focused Therapy. As of June 2024, Erik has completed their training to become an ADHD Certified Clinical Services Provider. This course has influenced Erik and their practice significantly, helping them better understand the how neurobiological nature of ADHD impacts identity, mental health and interpersonal relationships.
