Dana Thompson, LCSWA,
About Dana Thompson (She/Her)
Dana Thompson, LCSW-Associate, helps teens, adults, and older adults navigate life’s challenges with compassion, practical guidance, and evidence-based therapy. At LifeStance Health, she provides individual therapy for patients across North Carolina, supporting those who are working through anxiety, depression, and other emotional concerns that can impact daily functioning, relationships, school, work, and overall well-being. Dana creates a welcoming, collaborative environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to make meaningful changes. Dana has a special interest in helping individuals manage anxiety and depression. She understands that these conditions can affect every aspect of a person’s life, from self-confidence and motivation to physical health and interpersonal connections. Through a personalized approach to care, she partners with clients to identify patterns, develop healthy coping strategies, and build resilience. Her goal is to help people gain a deeper understanding of themselves while developing skills that support lasting emotional wellness. Her therapeutic approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based techniques, and parenting skills interventions when appropriate. Dana tailors treatment to each person’s unique needs, helping clients challenge unhelpful thought patterns, strengthen emotional regulation, and create realistic goals for growth. She believes that therapy is most effective when it is collaborative, practical, and focused on the individual’s strengths. Before entering the mental health field, Dana developed a deep appreciation for the importance of connection, self-care, and personal growth. Outside of her clinical work, she enjoys spending time outdoors swimming, kayaking, and hiking.
