About Sharon Kal (She/Her)

At LifeStance Health, Sharon Kal helps children, adolescents, teens, adults, and older adults navigate life’s challenges with compassion, clinical skill, and a personalized approach to care. Serving patients throughout New Jersey, she provides therapy for individuals who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, behavioral concerns, or major life transitions. Sharon believes that meaningful growth happens when individuals feel understood and supported, and she works collaboratively with each patient to create a treatment plan that aligns with their goals, strengths, and unique experiences. Sharon has experience supporting a diverse range of individuals and families, including children with behavioral challenges, teens navigating school-related concerns, and adults facing emotional health and relationship issues. Her therapeutic approach draws from evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), while adapting treatment to meet each patient’s needs. She also offers psychological testing and incorporates family-focused strategies when appropriate. Sharon is especially passionate about working with patients experiencing ADHD, gender identity concerns, and alcohol or drug use issues. She understands the complex impact these challenges can have on self-esteem, relationships, academic or career functioning, and overall well-being. Her goal is to provide a supportive, affirming space where patients can better understand themselves, develop effective coping skills, and build lasting resilience. She also has experience working with members of the LGBTQ+ community, individuals in foster or adoptive family systems, military veterans, first responders, and individuals on the autism spectrum, while offering support for additional populations and clinical concerns. A provisionally licensed counselor, Sharon combines her clinical training with a genuine appreciation for the human experience. She earned her education through New York University and Rutgers, where she developed a strong foundation in mental health assessment, psychotherapy, and evidence-based treatment approaches. Outside of her clinical work, Sharon enjoys hiking, camping, biking, kayaking, gaming, singing, creating music, writing poetry, journaling, drawing, painting, and volunteering in her community. These creative and outdoor interests help inform her holistic perspective on wellness and personal growth.

Sharon Kal provides services with supervision.
