About Andrea Reis (She/Her)
Andrea Reis is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Professional (LCDP) in Rhode Island with a degree in Social Work and over 25 years of experience in behavioral health, addiction treatment, and community-based care. She has worked extensively within the addictions field and has spent more than 20 years supporting substance-affected families involved in the child welfare system. In addition, Andrea has significant experience working with healthy aging adults, older adults with complex medical and behavioral health needs, and individuals seeking to maintain independence in the community.
Andrea believes the therapeutic relationship is foundational to meaningful change. She prioritizes creating a safe, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive environment where clients feel supported in addressing complex and sensitive experiences.
Her clinical specialties include substance use disorders, domestic violence, hate crimes, and sexual assault. She has advanced knowledge of medication-assisted treatment (including opioid replacement therapies such as methadone and buprenorphine) and integrates evidence-based relapse prevention strategies into her work. She also brings expertise in supporting older adults navigating life transitions, caregiver stress, chronic health conditions, grief, and maintaining autonomy while aging.
Andrea provides both short-term, solution-focused therapy and longer-term, insight-oriented treatment for individuals navigating addiction, trauma, family conflict, aging-related transitions, and major life changes. Her approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and grounded in helping clients build resilience, autonomy, and sustainable wellness across the lifespan.
