Christine Forte, LICSW
Christine Forte is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Rhode Island and Massachusetts who has been practicing for approximately 25 years. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, and Bachelor’s Degree in English from Rutgers University in New Jersey, and her Master of Social Work degree from the Fordham University Graduate School of Social Work in New York City. During her career, Christine has had the privilege to have partnered with people from all walks of life and assist with the struggles they faced. Much of her work has focused on issues of depression, anxiety, PTSD/trauma, loss, family issues, and general, everyday life stressors, strengthening coping skills, and building new skills. Christine’s clinical experience includes medical social work, forensic social work, foster care/adoption, substance use, and community health. Christine works to combine humor with compassion and empathy for all people in a safe and non-judgmental space. When you feel a loss of power/control or your sense of safety and trust has been greatly affected by significant events, Christine’s goal is to help you learn how to adapt and live with these events, so you are able to move forward and have a life you find worth living. Christine works with people 18 years and older. Christine pulls from a variety of treatment modalities: CBT, DBT, and is fully trained to provide Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD. Outside of work, Christine enjoys spending time with her husband and two very spirited tabby cats. She also enjoys reading, cross stitching/needle arts, cooking, gardening, and watching true crime shows.
