Elizabeth South, LCSW
Elizabeth has experience counseling individuals, families and children with a wide scope of treatment issues, ranging from adjustment disorders to chronic, severe and persistent illness. She believes in a holistic approach for mental health treatment and explores how medical issues, medication management, diet, exercise, social factors, living arrangements and significant life events impact a person’s wellbeing. Elizabeth is person centered, trauma informed, accepting and non-judgmental.
She uses a wide variety of practice methods and tailors evidenced based practice methods to meet a person’s individualized needs. Her training includes cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, trauma informed work and acceptance and commitment therapy, which she uses to guide her work.
Past clients have demonstrated significant progress with Elizabeth and provide evidence that when a healthy therapeutic relationship, clinical approach and a warm, relaxed and safe space meet, healing happens. Personal interests include traveling with her husband and dogs and finding peace and tranquility on the beaches and marshes of the Georgia and Florida coasts.
