About Jeri Banks (She/Her)

Dr. Banks is a clinical psychologist who has been in private practice since 1989. She completed her Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and her clinical internship at Rush- Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago. She was previously President/Clinic Director of Health Psychology Associates. Dr. Banks coordinated and practiced in the Insomnia Program of the Sleep Disorders Clinic at St. Luke’s Medical Center, and has consulted with various hospital departments.

Her approach to psychotherapy is eclectic, enabling her to tailor her therapy to the individual needs of her patients. Her orientation is also largely cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic with an emphasis on brief effective interventions. She works from the strengths of her patients, encouraging their positive growth and change.

Dr. Banks is listed in the National Register of Health Service Psychologists. She has served on the Medical Advisory Boards of Gilda’s Club of Southeastern Wisconsin and the Karen Yontz Women’s Cardiac Awareness Center at St. Luke’s Medical Center. Her specialties include: individual; marital; family therapy; anxiety; depression; OCD; chronic illness; pain management; women’s issues; stress and anger management; sleep disorders; psycho-oncology; and bereavement. Dr. Banks has been a member of the American and Wisconsin Psychological Associations and has served as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry for the University of Wisconsin-Madison Medical School.
