Dr. Kathleen Cherry is a licensed Psychologist in Delaware. In addition to treating her own caseload, Dr. Cherry services as the Director of Testing and Assessment Services at LifeStance Delaware. Current areas of clinical works primarily involve psychological assessment and supervision of doctoral students, doctoral interns, and post-doctoral residents. Additionally, Dr. Cherry sees families for Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), an evidenced-based treatment approach for young children (ages 2-7) with emotional and behavioral difficulties. Dr. Cherry completed her post-doctoral residency at Mid-Atlantic Behavioral Health (now LifeStance Health). She is a graduate of an American Psychological Association (APA) approved program at Immaculata University, where she completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.). She completed her doctoral internship through the Delaware Division of Prevention and Behavioral Health/Terry Children’s Center. She also has a Masters of Education (M.Ed.) in Counseling Psychology from Temple University and Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Clinical Psychology from Covenant College. Dr. Cherry’s clinical specializations include comprehensive psychological assessment in both inpatient and outpatient settings, treatment, and supervision of doctoral students. Areas of treatment focus include Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), Post-Traumatic Stress, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and Oppositional Defiant Disorder. Dr. Cherry has certifications in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), evidenced-based treatment approach for young children (ages 2-7) with emotional and behavioral difficulties, and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF CBT), an evidence based treatment approach for youth with trauma reaction symptoms. Dr. Cherry has extensive work and educational experience in a variety of mental health settings including outpatient services, community mental health, day treatment facilities, residential treatment centers, and psychiatric hospitals both in assessment and therapy.
