Carla Dixon, MSN, PMHNP, ANCC,
About Carla Dixon (She/Her)
Carla Dixon helps children, adolescents, teens, adults, and older adults navigate mental health challenges with compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care. As a prescriber at LifeStance Health, she serves patients throughout Florida, providing personalized treatment plans that support emotional wellness, symptom management, and long-term recovery. Her clinical experience includes helping individuals manage anxiety, depression, and ADHD while addressing the unique factors that influence each person’s mental health journey. Carla is particularly passionate about supporting individuals experiencing alcohol and drug use issues, recognizing the significant impact substance use can have on emotional, physical, and social well-being. She works collaboratively with patients to develop practical, sustainable treatment strategies that promote recovery, improve functioning, and strengthen resilience. Her approach emphasizes respect, empowerment, and individualized care, helping patients move toward meaningful and lasting change. In addition to substance use concerns, Carla works with a wide range of mental health conditions, including bipolar disorder and PTSD/trauma. She utilizes a combination of medication management and therapeutic approaches to support treatment goals. Her practice incorporates interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based strategies. She also offers advanced treatment options, including Spravato/Ketamine services and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). Carla provides testing services and offers additional support for a variety of behavioral health concerns. Patients appreciate Carla’s thoughtful and collaborative style. She believes effective mental health treatment begins with listening carefully, understanding each individual’s experiences, and creating a plan tailored to their needs. She strives to foster a supportive environment where patients feel heard, respected, and actively engaged in their care. Outside of work, Carla enjoys seeking out new adventures, traveling, reading, and exploring different foods and cultures. These interests reflect her curiosity, openness, and appreciation for diverse perspectives. Carla earned her education through Florida Atlantic University, Palm Beach State College, South University, and Wilkes University. She is dedicated to helping individuals across Florida access high-quality psychiatric care and effective treatment for conditions such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, and substance use disorders.
