About Rey Bernardo (He/Him)
Rey Bernardo, PMHNP, helps adults across Illinois navigate mental health challenges with compassion, evidence-based care, and personalized treatment. Rey also partners with patients to create practical paths toward improved emotional wellness and daily functioning. As a prescriber at LifeStance Health, he provides comprehensive psychiatric care for adults ages 18 and older, supporting individuals experiencing conditions such as anxiety, depression, and ADHD, while also addressing a wide range of additional mental health concerns. Rey is particularly focused on helping patients manage ADHD, anxiety, and depression. He understands that these conditions can affect relationships, work performance, self-esteem, and overall quality of life. His approach emphasizes thoughtful evaluation, ongoing collaboration, and individualized treatment planning designed to help patients achieve meaningful and sustainable progress. In addition to these areas of expertise, he treats a variety of other concerns, including bipolar disorder, psychosis/schizophrenia, and alcohol and drug use issues. Patients appreciate Rey’s balanced approach to care, which integrates clinical knowledge with genuine understanding. He incorporates interventions such as Spravato/Ketamine treatment, CBT for Insomnia, and Christian Counseling when clinically appropriate, while tailoring recommendations to each patient’s unique needs, goals, and preferences. He also offers testing and case management services as part of a comprehensive approach to behavioral healthcare. Rey earned his education through the University of St. Francis and Emilio Aguinaldo College, building a strong foundation for his work in psychiatric assessment and medication management. Outside of practice, he enjoys basketball and following sports, activities that help him maintain balance and stay energized.
