Sonali Shrestha, PMHNP, helps teens, adults, and older adults across Illinois navigate mental health challenges with compassionate, individualized psychiatric care. As a prescriber at LifeStance Health, she provides medication management and psychiatric support for a range of conditions, including anxiety, depression, and ADHD. Sonali believes that effective treatment begins with understanding each person’s unique experiences, goals, and strengths, and she works collaboratively with patients to create care plans that support meaningful and lasting progress. A special area of passion for Sonali is helping individuals who have recently been discharged from a psychiatric hospital. She understands that the transition from inpatient care back to everyday life can feel overwhelming and uncertain. Through thoughtful medication management, ongoing monitoring, and supportive follow-up care, she helps patients stabilize symptoms, build confidence in their recovery, and reduce the risk of future crises. Her approach emphasizes continuity of care, safety, and empowering patients as they move forward in their mental health journey. Sonali also has experience supporting individuals facing alcohol and drug use issues, bipolar disorder, and additional mental health concerns. She works with diverse populations, including members of the LGBTQ+ community, military veterans, and individuals with autism spectrum disorders. Her care is grounded in respect, cultural awareness, and evidence-based psychiatric treatment designed to meet patients where they are. Outside of practice, Sonali enjoys traveling, maintaining an active fitness routine, spending time with family and friends, exploring new restaurants, and continuing to learn about mental health and wellness. Sonali earned her education from Walden University and Rasmussen University.
