Yvonne Owen, MSN, PMHNP-BC, Psychiatry in Louisville, Kentucky

Yvonne is especially passionate about treating adult ADHD, anxiety, mood disorders, trauma-related symptoms, and women’s mental health concerns. She also understands the unique pressures faced by individuals balancing work, caregiving responsibilities, relationships, and ongoing life stressors. Through thoughtful psychiatric evaluation and medication management, she works closely with patients to create treatment plans that promote improved daily functioning, emotional resilience, and overall quality of life.

Her clinical approach integrates evidence-based strategies with whole-person care, recognizing the connection between mental, emotional, and physical health. Yvonne utilizes principles from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based care to support patients alongside medication management. In addition to her primary areas of focus, she has experience treating bipolar disorder, sleep disorders, grief, substance use concerns, and other psychiatric conditions.

Yvonne has a strong appreciation for the experiences of military families, veterans, and first responders, and she values creating a safe, judgment-free environment where patients feel heard and actively involved in their treatment decisions. She believes that meaningful mental health care begins with trust, education, and open communication, allowing patients to feel empowered throughout their care journey.

Since beginning her nursing career in 2019 and psychiatric practice in 2025, Yvonne has gained experience in inpatient, outpatient, residential, and acute psychiatric settings. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and grandchildren, supporting military families, reading, wellness activities, faith and personal growth, and lifelong learning.
