Ryan is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. He holds a Master of Science in Nursing from Regis College in Weston Massachusetts and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Ryan has experience working in the acute psychiatric inpatient setting, partial hospitalization setting, and in the outpatient setting.

Ryan is passionate about providing quality mental health services using a humanistic philosophy of holistic care for both mind and body, and a commitment to individualized, comprehensive care for all patients, rooted in empathy and cultural sensitivity.

He provides a range of outpatient psychiatric services for all diagnoses with a special interest in depression, anxiety disorders, and bipolar disorder.

I swear it doesn’t matter what my issues pertain to. I always feel so much better when I get off the phone with Ryan. He does everything he can to help me. I have severe PTSD.. Not sure where I would be without his support..My son took his life 2013,Been understandably challenging and painful since. i’m not gonna lie. I certainly wasn’t happy about seeing someone. I was pretty difficult. But yet desperate to get help. Also angry that I needed to. It took some time but my trust built up. There is not one thing I don’t tell him.I’ve never felt judged. he was extremely and has been extremely patient with me. very few want to-admit when we need to talk to someone, I encourage you to take your time and find someone you can trust. And I guarantee your life will change. I recommend Ryan, to everyone. There’s very few like him. I was so angry that my son has turned my life upside down to the point where I did need help. And it took me a long time to reach out for it. Didn’t mean I was gonna be happy about it. He won’t tell you what you want to hear. He will tell you the truth and he’s got tattoos, which makes him cool.😂 it’s not OK to suffer in silence and no one needs to. It doesn’t make you weak to ask for help it only shows strength. And be proud of yourself for reaching out you would be surprised how many people are struggling behind closed doors that smile every day so never be ashamed or embarrassed, asking for help will save your life and your life matters to everyone.🩷

My family has been going to Lifestance for years. I see Ryan who is great! He helps me manage my ADHD medication. He has patience with my ramblings as I try to explain what I'm going through and gives me helpful suggestions for coping when I'm struggling. I don't drive so being able to do telehealth sessions is a life saver. He always makes sure I have my prescriptions filled and that I have enough to get me to our next appointment. Ryan is 10/10

Kind, listens, asks about ur needs, feelings, and actually will work with u and take into consideration ur feelings on ur health. I have had many different psychiatric in the past and never have I been as satisfied as I am now. He's not one to blow off ur feelings about ur medication or what u feel is or is not working for you. I will keep going back and I recommend him for anyone looking for better mental health or substance help

Best place I have had the privilege to work with in regard to mental health. Ryan Upson has been kind, Courteous, Empathetic and genuine. Whenever I have any concerns or questions he is always prompt in his responses and always tries to find solutions and I cant thank him and LifeStance Health enough for helping me get to where I needed to be.
