Corey Potter, PMHNP, helps adults and seniors in Rhode Island navigate complex mental health challenges through a compassionate, individualized approach. She provides a blend of medication management and therapeutic support, with a focus on empowering patients to better understand their symptoms and take an active role in their care. Whether addressing anxiety, depression, or mood instability, Corey partners closely with each person to identify treatment strategies that align with their unique needs and goals. Corey specializes in treating mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and psychosis. With a strong clinical foundation and a trauma-informed lens, she supports individuals coping with persistent intrusive thoughts, emotional dysregulation, or difficult life transitions. Her approach integrates evidence-based interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to help clients challenge harmful patterns and develop more adaptive coping strategies. In addition to psychiatric care, Corey prioritizes the therapeutic alliance, ensuring patients feel heard, supported, and understood. Corey is particularly passionate about working with individuals navigating the long-term impacts of trauma, substance use, and serious mental illness, including psychosis and schizophrenia. Her early work in substance uses treatment and ongoing dedication to harm reduction, feminist theory, and motivational interviewing inform a respectful, nonjudgmental practice style. She also provides affirming care for LGBTQ+ individuals, creating a safe and inclusive space for healing and growth. Outside of her clinical work, Corey enjoys exploring genealogy, studying history, and watching classic films from the silent era through the 1950s.

Late last year I decided to take ownership again of my ADHD after decades of ignoring it. I was able to get an appointment with Corey and she’s been wonderful. Listens to my concerns, what areas I feel a need in and adjust appropriately. Always a friendly and welcoming approach. The associates in the office are fantastic also. Being someone who rarely needed to use my insurance, I was unsure of what a pre-auth was but CVS seemed to think I should have known. I called the office and they take care of it all for me. Kim has helped me on more than a couple occasions with handling the insurance companies. Can’t recommend enough!

Availability of practitioners, the availability of remote and non-remote appointments and having a decent portal are some of the top reasons I will give Lifestance a decent 5 star review. I've been able to communicate fairly effectively, set appointments, payment plans and request specific neurological testing quite easily and sooner rather than later (as some other locations in the state take months to schedule an appointment.) I would recommend Lifestance to anyone looking for mental health care with several locations and a decent staff, it's been a pleasure having to work with them to better my mental health.

Corey Potter, who manages my meds, is awesome!!! She makes me feel listened to and she makes me realize that I’m not the only one who is going through this, and that I can do this!!! I feel so comfortable talking to her, and I have the utmost trust in what she thinks is best for me. I’m just so comfortable with her, and that says a lot for me because I can close myself off and not relate well to doctors. I want to be the caregiver, not the one needing to be cared for. She’s the best as far as I’m concerned!!!

Corey is so down to earth, genuine and knowledgeable so I have a super easy time explaining where I’m at, where I’m troubled and how we are proceeding with my treatment plan. I always feel heard and even find myself laughing when I may have started stressed out. Finding a chemical solution can be tricky when you have multiple issues, but I’m sure I’m heading in the right direction and have factored everything in due to her thorough assessments.
