About Katherine McKinnon (She/Her)

Katherine McKinnon helps adults across Washington navigate mental health challenges with a thoughtful, evidence-based approach that blends medication management and therapy. As a prescriber at LifeStance Health, she works collaboratively with patients experiencing anxiety, depression, and ADHD while also supporting individuals managing conditions such as bipolar disorder, PTSD, obsessive-compulsive disorder, psychosis, schizophrenia, and sleep-related concerns. Her goal is to create a supportive environment where patients feel heard, respected, and empowered in their treatment journey. Katherine believes that effective mental health care begins with understanding each person’s unique experiences, strengths, and goals. She provides individualized treatment plans for adults and incorporates therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based strategies when appropriate. She is committed to helping patients develop practical skills to improve emotional well-being, strengthen resilience, and achieve greater balance in daily life. Katherine is especially passionate about helping individuals living with anxiety, depression, and ADHD. She understands how these conditions can affect relationships, work performance, concentration, self-esteem, and overall quality of life. By combining clinical expertise with a compassionate, patient-centered perspective, she helps individuals better understand their symptoms, identify effective coping strategies, and make meaningful progress toward lasting wellness.

With a background in nursing and advanced practice psychiatric care, Katherine earned her education from Walden University. Her clinical work is guided by a commitment to ongoing learning and delivering care that reflects current best practices in mental health treatment. Outside of work, Katherine enjoys reading, exploring science fiction, spending time in nature, learning about archaeology, and caring for her beloved fur babies. These interests reflect her natural curiosity and appreciation for lifelong learning, connection, and well-being.
