Shahrum Ali, PMHNP, BC,
About Shahrum Ali (He/Him)
Shahrum Ali helps teens and adults across Washington find clarity, stability, and hope when facing mental health challenges. As a prescriber at LifeStance Health, he provides medication management with a collaborative, patient-centered approach that respects each person’s experiences, goals, and concerns. Shahrum works with individuals navigating conditions such as ADHD, anxiety, and depression, while also offering support for many additional mental health needs. He believes effective psychiatric care begins with listening and building trust, empowering patients to take an active role in their treatment journey. A particular area of focus for Shahrum is supporting individuals who have recently been discharged from a psychiatric hospital or who are participating in court-ordered treatment. He understands that these transitions can feel overwhelming and that continued psychiatric support is critical to maintaining stability and preventing setbacks. Shahrum strives to create a respectful and nonjudgmental environment where patients can feel supported as they move toward greater independence, recovery, and long-term wellness. Shahrum is especially passionate about helping patients better understand ADHD and reducing the stigma that can surround both the diagnosis and the use of ADHD medications. He also has significant comfort and experience working with individuals experiencing psychosis and schizophrenia. In treating depression and anxiety, he takes a holistic view, recognizing that mental health is influenced by biological, emotional, social, and lifestyle factors. His goal is to develop thoughtful treatment plans that address the whole person rather than focusing solely on symptoms. Patients appreciate Shahrum’s practical and compassionate style, as well as his commitment to meeting people where they are in their mental health journey. He serves a wide range of individuals and is able to communicate with patients in Hindi and Urdu in addition to providing care in English. Shahrum earned his education from the University of Washington and Gonzaga University. His training supports a strong foundation in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and medication management, allowing him to provide evidence-based care tailored to each patient’s needs. Outside of clinical practice, Shahrum enjoys playing video games, a hobby that helps him relax and recharge while staying connected to creativity, strategy, and problem-solving.
