Grand McDonald, PsyD, Post Doctorate, resides in Chicago, IL and has been practicing since 2015. She has a bachelor of arts and science from Marquette University and a Master’s Degree and a Doctorate of Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Grand focuses on a collaborative and strengths-based approach to facilitate a therapeutic relationship that provides a safe and supportive environment for clients to process their experiences and to promote self-love and a sense of empowerment and hope. She believes that culture is an integral part of who we are and impacts our experiences in the world collectively and individually. Grand works through a relational and attachment-focused lens, while also teaching clients skills and techniques to help them cope. The majority of her work is with pre-adolescents, adolescents and adults who have histories of trauma. She also works with depression, anxiety and relational issues. Along with therapy, Grand conducts psychological evaluations and is trained in Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Suicide and Sexual Assault training. With any client she works with, Grand empathizes and strives to understand the individual holistically and in context with their world experience and cultural backgrounds. She believes it is a privilege to be part of your therapeutic process and is devoted to joining you in discovering a life you believe as one of growth, healing and subjective joy. While her career adds purpose to her life, Grand values and prioritizes life outside of work by experiencing joy in many forms such as attending music festivals and concerts and seeing as much of the world as possible. She also enjoys spending time with friends and family whenever she is not enjoying alone time.
