Sadhana Nayak-Young, MD
Specializes In:
Dr Nayak-Young’s biggest strength is her ability to forge genuine connections with her patients and deeply understand each individual in the context of their current life and past experiences. She enjoys partnering with patients who are interested in self-awareness, personal growth, and holistic approaches to mental health.
After a thorough evaluation, she shares her feedback about identified problem areas and recommends the best treatment plan to create change and help each patient feel their best. She excels in explaining medication actions and side effects in a clear and understandable manner. She is conservative in her use of medications, especially in younger patients. Psychotherapy is a significant component of her practice–she utilizes psychotherapy approaches with every patient, and has many weekly therapy patients (though unfortunately, limited availability to take on new psychotherapy patients).
She graduated summa cum laude from Harvard University in three years with a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and won full merit scholarships to attend University of Cambridge (Master’s degree in Molecular Biology) and University of Michigan (Medical doctorate). She completed her general psychiatry residency at UCLA-Semel Institute and her child and adolescent fellowship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Dr Nayak-Young is double board-certified in Child and Adolescent and Adult Psychiatry.
