About Stephanie Joseph (She/Her)

Dr. Joseph is a clinical psychiatrist on a mission to empower individuals to live their best life by enhancing overall health and wellness. She recognizes the suffering that leads many people to seek help and aims to provide compassionate care that is collaborative, informative, solution-oriented, and comprehensive.

As a psychiatrist, she is an expert in evaluating and treating a broad range of psychiatric disorders. She has extensive experience with treating Depressive Disorders, Bipolar Disorders, Anxiety and Panic Disorders, Trauma-Related Disorders, Psychotic Disorders, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders, Sleep Disorders, Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Substance Use Disorders, as well as other Behavioral Addictions.

She values collaborating with patients to develop individualized and evidence-based treatment plans using multiple modalities that may include psychoeducation, psychotherapy, and pharmacotherapy. She is trained in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), including CBT for insomnia. She also has extensive training in dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and motivational interviewing (MI).

Dr. Joseph earned her bachelor’s degree in chemistry and sociology at Vanderbilt University and her medical degree at Long School of Medicine in San Antonio, Texas. She completed her general psychiatry residency with Northwell Health at Staten Island University Hospital in New York and completed advanced training in addiction psychiatry at UT Southwestern in Dallas, Texas.

Dr. Stephanie Joseph is one of the most compassionate, grounded, and insightful people I know. Her dedication to her work and her patients is truly inspiring. She brings warmth, empathy, and professionalism to everything she does, and it’s clear that she genuinely cares about the well-being of those she helps. Even outside of her practice, Stephanie carries herself with integrity and kindness. She’s the kind of person people naturally trust and feel safe around. I’ve always admired her thoughtful, nonjudgmental approach to life and to others. Lifestance saved my life when I was struggling with my mental health. I was able to get my medication from a provider that cares about my well being. I appreciate Dr. Stephanie Joseph dedication and expertise. She is the best psychiatrist I’ve ever had. She always educates me on medical terms /meds/topics I might not understand fully. I had at least 4 other providers prior to her. Her office is also pleasant and reliable will help you with technical issues or scheduling right away. Dr Joseph, a paragon of goodness and professionalism, knowledgeable intuition and judgement. Just her presence calms my anxiety as she shows genuine care for the whole person and not just symptoms.
