Dr. Michael M. Ferguson is a Psychiatrist in California who has been practicing since 1981. He received Board Certification in Psychiatry by American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, earned his undergraduate degree from Rice University (summa cum laude), and completed his Medical Degree and Psychiatric Residency at UCLA. Dr. Ferguson provides medication evaluation and ongoing monitoring. He has extensive experience working with clients who have “Dual Diagnosis” (psychiatric conditions along with substance use disorders). He specializes in Buprenorphine treatment for opioid use disorders, ADHD, mood disorders (bipolar, depression), anxiety and panic disorders, and autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Dr. Ferguson enjoys working with and helping individuals of all ages, including teenagers, young adults, older adults, and beyond. Outside of work, Dr. Ferguson enjoys hiking and caring for family dogs (Labradoodle, Sheepadoodle, German Shepard, and white lab).

Nice guy, but maybe losing it - he forgets to show up to appointments and leaves people with no medication and then take days off and then the patience end up having a seizure waking up in the hospital. And there's no excuse of "tapering off" when you have a initial discussion about the topic but seem to make a note you do not have to meet with that patient for over two months after that which is odd because multiple medication's I have actually require you to do just that which is meet with me prior to prescription of the same medication. But, I understand if this is not something you're used to or maybe is not as important to you it just became very important to me when I was in the hospital bed realizing that I almost died. My appointments with Dr Ferguson (great guy) is through Zoom. They send you a link the day of your appointment and days prior to check in. Which is really convenient. I only have a problem with zoom if I don't have a really good Internet connection. The office staff is great about helping you out if you ever have a problem. Thank you Lifestance!

I used to see Dr. Ferguson when he was practicing in Goleta, CA. He is a wonderful psychiatrist and I was able to stabilize my bi-polar disorder, anxiety disorder and adult on-set attention deficit disorder through his care. He helped me over the course of a few years and I appreciate his help to this day. Thank you Dr. Ferguson!

He is the best there is. He listens so well, everyone else pales in comparison. He has vast knowledge of many types of disorders, and medications. He is a professional, who cares deeply, is supportive, and offers great insight.
