Dr. Puthuvel earned an M.D. from Kasturba Medical College in 1999, completed a residency in psychiatry at East Tennessee State University in 2011, and became board certified in General Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in 2012.

My Zoom visit with Dr. Puthuvel started out as a technical challenge and I was quite frankly afraid I was going to lose my much-needed appointment because of that. However, Dr. Puthuvel has a wonderful assistant (I believe her name is Lexi) who stayed with me for about 40 minutes helping me to 'connect'. Dr. Puthuvel is one of THE best Psychiatrists I've had the pleasure of working with and trust me, I've had my share over the past few decades. Good meeting, need a lesser dose of medication for the pill I take later on in the day. It makes me feel sluggish in the morning and increased anxiety.
