About Bradley Heldmann (He/Him)

Dr. Bradley Heldmann, MD, helps adults and seniors throughout Illinois find effective treatment for mental health concerns through a combination of thoughtful psychiatric care, medication management, and evidence-based therapeutic approaches. At LifeStance Health, he works collaboratively with patients to better understand their symptoms, develop personalized treatment plans, and achieve meaningful improvements in emotional well-being and daily functioning. His clinical interests include helping individuals manage anxiety, depression, and ADHD, while also providing support for a broad range of additional mental health conditions. As a physician and prescriber, Dr. Heldmann recognizes that mental health challenges often affect every aspect of a person’s life, including relationships, work, physical health, and overall quality of life. He works closely with patients experiencing mood disorders, trauma-related concerns, sleep difficulties, and other psychiatric conditions, tailoring treatment to each individual’s goals and circumstances. In addition to medication management, he incorporates therapeutic techniques to help patients build practical coping strategies and lasting resilience. Dr. Heldmann utilizes evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based approaches to support long-term wellness. He also provides specialized care for individuals navigating alcohol and drug use issues through medication-assisted treatment when appropriate. While anxiety, depression, and ADHD are among his primary areas of focus, he offers treatment for many additional mental health concerns and life transitions. His approach emphasizes partnership, education, and compassionate care. Dr. Heldmann believes that successful treatment begins with listening carefully to each patient’s experience and creating a plan that reflects their unique strengths, challenges, and values. He strives to help patients gain insight, reduce symptoms, and improve their ability to live fulfilling and productive lives. Outside of clinical practice, Dr. Heldmann enjoys a wide variety of creative and outdoor pursuits. He spends time biking, hiking, gardening, and painting, and enjoys reading across genres including classic literature, fantasy, horror, and science fiction. He is also an enthusiast of board games, role-playing games, and strategy-based video games, interests that reflect his appreciation for creativity, problem-solving, and lifelong learning. Dr. Heldmann earned his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine after completing his education at the University of Oklahoma.
