Dr. Maria Plata originally from Eagle Pass, TX completed her Adult Psychiatry Residency at The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. She pursued undergraduate studies at Baylor University and received her medical degree from Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. With a natural passion, dedication, and commitment, Dr. Plata strives to alleviate mental health barriers that limit patients from finding meaning in life. Through a detailed history she draws a complete story to address symptoms at their root cause and gain a comprehensive perspective of each patient. She is interested in interventional approaches to alleviate mental distress including ketamine-based therapies and psychedelics.
