Barry Mills, MD, PhD is a board-certified psychiatrist with over 30 years of experience in clinical practice, teaching, and leadership. He has served on the faculty of Harvard Medical School and has held key roles in psychiatric education, including Residency Training Director at two medical schools. Dr. Mills offers compassionate, evidence-based care for a wide range of conditions, including ADHD, depression, anxiety, autism spectrum disorders, trauma, brain injuries, insomnia, bipolar disorder, mood disorders, psychosis, schizophrenia, and substance use disorders. His approach is comprehensive and tailored to each individual’s unique needs. Dr. Mills earned his MD from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and a PhD from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara, CA. His professional achievements include serving as an Editor for the Harvard Review of Psychiatry, being nominated by his students at Harvard for the Faculty Teaching Award, and consulting for the U.S. State Department. He is also a recipient of the prestigious Rappaport and Laughlin Fellowships and holds the Master Educator designation from the American Association of Academic Psychiatry. Dr. Mills is licensed to practice medicine in California, Texas, and New York. Outside of his professional work, Dr. Mills enjoys motorcycles, gardening, and writing. He and his wife—an experienced special education teacher—share a love for rescue animals and are proud parents of three adult children and grandparents to four wonderful grandchildren.
