Jacob Brent, MD, provides thoughtful, compassionate psychiatric care to children, teens, and adults across Washington through LifeStance Health. With a focus on medication management and collaborative care, Dr. Brent supports individuals navigating complex emotional and behavioral challenges, from anxiety and depression to mood disorders and trauma. His integrative approach combines clinical insight with a deep respect for each person’s lived experience, empowering patients and families to make informed decisions about their mental health treatment. Dr. Brent brings unique expertise in working with medically complex patients—individuals whose mental health is impacted by serious medical conditions such as epilepsy, cancer, or organ transplants. He understands how physical illness can intertwine with emotional distress and provides targeted psychiatric support to help patients manage both. His training as a pediatrician and child and adolescent psychiatrist allows him to offer comprehensive care that addresses developmental, behavioral, and physical health needs in tandem. He is especially passionate about supporting neurodiverse individuals and those with developmental disabilities, including youth in adoption or foster care. His work with individuals on the autism spectrum, as well as children managing behavioral issues, is grounded in respect, patience, and evidence-based strategies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Exposure Therapy. Dr. Brent also serves first responders and LGBTQ+ individuals with a focus on reducing stigma and improving access to affirming care. Outside of his clinical practice, Dr. Brent enjoys spending time in nature, exploring trails with his dog, and staying active through running, hiking, and biking.
