Dr. Mariam Parekh is a Clinical Psychologist in Colorado who has been practicing since 2016. She has a PhD from Syracuse University and has completed all Ph.D. requirements from American Psychological Association accredited placements. She completed her Internship at White River Junction Veteran Association and Dartmouth University and her Post Graduate work from Loma Linda Veteran Association. Dr. Parekh is well-trained in areas of areas of depression, anxiety, trauma, adjustment and marital counseling. She uses an evidence based approach to her practice of psychology to help ensure that clients are aware of their goals and can track their own treatment success as a way of helping clients recognize progress in their journey toward change and celebrate their true inner power. Dr. Parekh does not believe that people are broken just because they are feeling broken. She emphasizes use of positive psychology to help empower clients to develop a meaningful relationship with themselves and others so they can find value in their world. Outside of work, Dr. Parekh likes to spend quality time with her husband and son. She enjoys reading books related to fantasy as she believes it is important to let her mind be creative and allow the mind to escape outside of what she knows is reality. She loves to watch shows that are related to body language and therapy (of course). She really enjoys her son, who shows her every day that innocence is a wonderful aspect of life and helps her realize that the inner child in every one of us is something important and must be cherished.
