Dr. Julie Janco-Gidley is a licensed psychologist who has been practicing since 2010. She received her B.A. in psychology from Case Western Reserve University, her M.A. from Cleveland State University in Clinical/Counseling Psychology, and her Ph.D. from The University of Akron in Counseling Psychology. Prior to becoming independently licensed she has many years of clinical experience working with individual, families, and groups in a variety of settings including schools, homes, outpatient settings, intensive outpatient programs, and partial hospitalization programs and has provided supervision and training to psychology interns and post-doctoral trainees and has served as adjunct faculty at several local colleges. Julie believes in tailoring treatment to the individual needs and goals of the client or family and identifying and using client’s strengths and interests to help each person find solutions that will work for them and their unique situations but has particular interest in cognitive behavioral therapy and other evidence-based approaches. Her specialty areas include child and adolescent services, school issues (preschool thru graduate school), adjustment disorders/life transitions, anxiety disorders, attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and women’s issues. In her spare time, Julie enjoys music, animals, and nature.
