Eleanor Speidel, PhD,
About Eleanor Speidel (She/Her)
Eleanor Speidel, PhD, helps children, adolescents, teens, and young adults build the skills they need to navigate emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges with greater confidence and resilience. As a clinical psychologist at LifeStance Health, she provides compassionate, evidence-based care to patients throughout Virginia, offering individual therapy and psychological testing tailored to each person’s unique strengths, needs, and goals. Eleanor works with concerns such as ADHD, anxiety, and childhood behavior issues, while also supporting individuals facing a range of additional mental health and developmental challenges. Eleanor is especially passionate about helping young people and families understand the factors contributing to emotional, behavioral, academic, and social difficulties. She has extensive experience supporting children and teens who are struggling with attention and concentration concerns, anxiety that interferes with daily life, and behavior challenges at home or school. Through a collaborative approach, she partners with parents and caregivers to create meaningful, practical strategies that support long-term growth and success. Her treatment style is warm, engaging, and developmentally appropriate, helping young clients feel comfortable while encouraging active participation in the therapeutic process. Eleanor commonly incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, while drawing from additional evidence-based interventions based on each client’s needs. She also has experience working with members of the LGBTQ+ community, individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders, and children involved in adoption or foster care settings, among other populations. Before entering practice in 2018, Eleanor completed her education at Washington and Lee University and George Mason University, where she developed a strong foundation in psychological assessment and treatment. Her clinical work reflects a commitment to helping young people better understand themselves, strengthen coping skills, and thrive across home, school, and community environments. Outside of her professional role, Eleanor enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, snowboarding, and enjoying fresh air. She is also an avid reader who always has a book in progress.
