Annaken Toews is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Colorado who has been practicing since 2020. Annaken believes in the power our bodies hold to heal from adversity and the idea that trauma is the effect of having an overwhelming experience in the absence of a supportive witness. Annaken uses somatic approaches to help clients harness their innate, biological capacity to heal using a bottom-up approach, rather than traditional talk therapy. Clients gain awareness of their own capacities to address ineffective thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that enables them to live fuller, more satisfying lives.

Annaken uses Internal Family Systems and relational attachment theory to understand individual behaviors, shift ineffective and harmful behavior patterns to healthier ones and promote healthier relationships through boundary-setting and positive communication skills. In her spare time, Annaken enjoys being in the outdoors, hiking, growing things, and making music.
