Morgan Merritt, MSW, LSW,
About Morgan Merritt (She/Her)
Morgan Merritt helps children, adolescents, teens, and adults build resilience, improve emotional well-being, and navigate difficult life experiences with compassion and evidence-based care. As a social worker with LifeStance Health, she provides individual and family therapy for patients throughout Colorado. Morgan creates a supportive, affirming environment where patients feel safe to explore challenges, strengthen coping skills, and work toward meaningful, lasting change. She supports individuals facing concerns such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD/trauma while also addressing a wide range of additional mental health needs. Morgan is especially passionate about working with individuals who have experienced trauma, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and those struggling with self-harm or suicidal thoughts. She understands that healing often requires both emotional safety and practical tools, and she partners with patients to develop healthier ways of coping, processing difficult experiences, and building a life aligned with their values. Her approach is trauma-informed, strengths-based, and tailored to each person’s unique circumstances and goals. She also has experience supporting patients who have recently been discharged from a psychiatric hospital, are participating in court-ordered treatment, or are navigating current legal matters. Morgan recognizes the unique stressors these situations can create and strives to provide a nonjudgmental therapeutic space where individuals can focus on stability, growth, and recovery. In addition to her primary areas of focus, she works with concerns such as ADHD, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), school avoidance, eating disorders, and health-related stressors, among others. Morgan has experience working with diverse populations, including individuals in foster care and adoption systems, people with autism spectrum disorders or developmental disabilities, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. She offers both individual and family therapy and incorporates evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), while drawing from additional therapeutic approaches to meet each patient’s needs. When appropriate, she integrates principles informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS) and trauma-focused care. Outside of her professional life, Morgan enjoys swimming, camping, creating art, cooking, baking, watching movies and shows, and spending time with her Bernedoodle, Archie. These activities help her stay grounded and reflect her appreciation for creativity, connection, and personal well-being.
