About Kathy Whitworth (She/Her)

Kathleen A. Whitworth, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at LifeStance Health, provides compassionate and evidence-based therapy to individuals and families in Florida. With over two decades of experience, she specializes in helping adults and adolescents navigate challenges related to anxiety, depression, and trauma. Kathleen understands that seeking therapy can be a significant step, and she creates a supportive environment where clients feel empowered to explore their emotions, develop coping strategies, and build resilience.

Kathleen is particularly passionate about working with individuals struggling with ADHD, PTSD/trauma, and alcohol and drug use issues. She takes an integrative approach, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy CBT, Dialectical Behavior Therapy DBT, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ACT to help clients break unhelpful patterns and move toward meaningful change. She also works closely with first responders, military personnel, and the LGBTQ+ community, offering specialized support tailored to their unique experiences.

In addition to individual therapy, Kathleen provides family counseling, assisting clients in improving communication, strengthening relationships, and addressing behavioral challenges. She has extensive experience in midlife and later-life transitions, grief, and gender identity concerns. Her goal is to help clients achieve emotional balance and well-being through practical tools and mindfulness-based strategies. Outside of her professional work, Kathleen enjoys solving jigsaw puzzles, kayaking, and spending time at the beach. She believes in the importance of self-care and encourages her clients to find activities that bring them peace and fulfillment.
